Creating Mail box Aliases

Mail aliases are alternative addresses to existing e-mail boxes on the same domain name. Messages sent to a mail box alias arrive to the primary e-mail box.

To create an mail box alias:

1. Click New E-mail on the mail domain Controls page:

   

2. On the configuration page, that you will be taken to, enter the mail box alias name in the E-mail address field.
3. Check the Catch All box to intercept messages sent to a nonexistent account on the mail domain.
       If catch all isn't enabled on any mail resource on this domain, such messages will bounce back to the sender with an error notification.
4. Check the box next to MAIL ALIAS.
5. Click the name of the e-mail box in the Click to choose from existing e-mail boxes list on the left to assign the mail box alias to it:

   

   To assign a mail box alias to more than one e-mail box, click e-mail box names in the list with the Shift or Ctrl key pressed.
   Chosen e-mail box(es) will appear in the You've chosen: list on the right.
       Caution: the mail box alias won't be created for the deselected e-mail boxes.
6. Click the Submit button at the bottom of the form.

Editing Mail box Aliases

You can change a  mail box alias or assign it to other  e-mail box(es) or do both. To edit a  mail box alias:

1. Click the mail box alias e-mail address in the E-mail list on the mail domain Controls page:

   

2. Perform steps 5 to 6 of the create  mail box aliases procedure.

Unassigning Mail box Alias from E-Mail box(es) It is Currently Assigned to

To unassign a mail box alias from the e-mail box(es) it is currently assigned to:

1. Click the mail box alias e-mail address in the E-mail list on the mail domain Controls page as you do when changing mail box aliases.
2. Select the e-mail box name it is currently assigned to in the left You've chosen: e-mail box list.
3. Press the Delete button next to the list.

To remove several e-mail boxes from the You've chosen: e-mail box list on the left, select the e-mail boxes names in the list with the Shift or Ctrl key pressed and click the Delete button.

Removing Mail box Aliases

To remove a mail box alias preserving other services running on it's e-mail address:

1. Click the mail box alias e-mail address in the E-mail list on the mail domain Controls page as you do on the first step of Changing Mail box Aliases guide.
2. Uncheck the MAIL ALIAS.
3. Click the Submit button at the bottom of the form.

To remove a mail box alias along with all e-mail services running it's e-mail address, click the Delete icon in the mail box alias Properties column on the Mail Controls page:

To delete a Catch All mail box alias, first switch Catch All OFF.
